Eugene Neighborhood Real Estate

 

Eugene, Oregon, together with the adjacent Springfield, Oregon, offers a variety of different neighborhoods which represent different communities within the cities. These Eugene/Springfield neighborhoods are generally delineated by major landmarks, such as highways or rivers. The areas typically have their own high schools, shopping centers, and other features which give them a unique character within the city of Eugene.  

 

Eugene, Oregon features at least five distinctive neighborhoods, all boasting different possibilities for real estate. The South Eugene Hills area offers small locally-owned shops, a rec center, South Eugene High School, hiking trails, and natural parks. Residents of this Eugene neighborhood enjoy larger lot sizes and a measure of distance from mainstream Eugene. Eugene’s Ferry Street Bridge area is home to Sheldon High School, as well as the popular Marist Catholic High School. The boundaries of the Ferry Street Bridge area are marked by the Beltline Highway, Delta Highway and I-5. This neighborhood is known for its terrific shopping venues and family recreation areas, as well as its proximity to Autzen Stadium, home of the Oregon Ducks.  

 

Springfield’s four distinct neighborhoods also offer a range of different real estate. Springfield, Oregon is separated from Eugene by I-5. The Hayden Bridge Area of Springfield offers easy access to the McKenzie River. Hayden Bridge’s commercial area has drawn many large employers, including Symantec and the River Bend Hospital. Thurston represents another option for Springfield, Oregon real estate. This beautiful neighborhood is surrounded by the Thurston Hills and bordered by Oregon’s McKenzie River. Located near Dexter Lake, Thurston is home to Thurston High School and Springfield, Oregon’s upscale Mountain Gate subdivision. Springfield, Oregon’s final neighborhood is called Glenwood. Located near the University of Oregon, Glenwood lies in the southern portion of Springfield, Oregon, and is one of the few areas approved for future development. Downtown Springfield, Oregon is home to Springfield High School and the Gateway mall.
